Velocity and Velocity Plus

The Velocity and Velocity Plus tanning bulbs are a Wolff Systems produced lamp that are made exclusively for ETS, LLC (previous owners: ETS, Inc.), who owns the trademarked "Velocity". They are available in several sizes, including F71 and F59 bi-pin, and F72 and F73 RDC. While the UVB ratings for this lamp are not published, many people believe the regular velocity to be comparible with a 5% to 6.5% UVB tanning lamp, and the Velocity Plus to be marginally higher UVB.

These lamps came as original equipment (OEM) for SunQuest Wolff and SunVision residential and lower cost commercial tanning beds, with 24 to 28 lamps.

Because they are only available through the manufacturer or their dealers, they tend to be expensive, in the $16+ price range. Because of this, they are seldom used as replacement lamps by salon owners, who can buy legally equivalent tanning bulbs for less, typically $10 or less. Examples of legally compatible lamps to the Velocity include the SunMaster Custom Bronzer and Custom Plus, as well as Brilliance 5% and others.
