Update to below: The company that originally owned Solar Storm and Solar Wave *was* rated F. The trademarks names and manufacturing were "sold" to another company, and there is evidence that both companies were owned by the same person (ie: they just reorganized, for whatever reason, and everything is the same except the company name.) In the interest of being accurate, I wanted to disclose this. The new owner is Leisure Products, which doesn't show any information on tanning beds on their BBB page as of today, ironically. Make of it what you will, the information below is based on the original owners, which appear to be the same as the current owners but a different corporation name. Confused? Me, too.

The Solar Storm and Solar Wave tanning beds are system you really want to avoid. I hate to be so negative, but facts are facts.

The company that builds them, SunTechnologies, Inc (which is actually an LLC...) has only been in business for two years, and in that time, they have quickly managed to get an F rating by the Better Business Bureau. This is due to the shear volume of unresolved complaints and an unwillingness to address customer complaints. I won't labor it any further, you can just read their profile on the BBB website here.

These beds are the ones you see in Walmart, Sam's and discount clubs, and typically sell for $1200 or so. If you have one and notice it isn't tanning you, changing the lamps is not likely to fix the problem.
