Crystal Sun S
Crystal Sun S are one of the oldest Wolff lamps, and came as original
equipment in a large number of tanning beds in the 1980s. Most of these
beds came with 30 minute timers, and many were built before tanning beds
became regulated by the FDA. A few of these beds may not have timers at
all, which would be considered dangerous now.
Like all Wolff lamps, the Crystal Sun S lamp doesn't have a published
UVB rating, although it is considered by most to be compatible with
something in the 3.5% range. They were offered originally in sizes F72
(RDC) and F71. The last known bed to use these as original equipment
was the Beauty Pro Wolff system by SunMaster, in the late 1990s.
Wolff no longer makes these lamps, and a wide variety of replacement
tanning lamps can be found that are legally compatible, including the
Morning Sun 2.6 by LSI, and the Pro Bronzer by SunMaster.
